Manic-ure: Stryker by Marteeka Karland and Have a Winter-full Day by Lily & Fox

It’s definitely sweater weather here, so I chose Have a Winter-full Day by Lily and Fox nail wraps. They look like little sweaters with plaid accents and it had been a minute since I had done purple, so there you go.

I’m a big fan of nail wraps. They save time. They save energy. And they make less mess than a traditional manicure, and I am bang up alongside of that. My hand tremors get worse as time goes on (it is what it is) and I’m equally likely to paint my fingers as I am my fingernails.

While I was doing my nails (and while I was sipping a Pepsi afterwards with my feet up feeling particularly accomplished) I listened to STRYKER by Marteeka Karland, narrated by Umi Markkanen. I love that Karland’s books are relatively short because my attention span is that of a baby squirrel on crack (f*cking manic depression, plus ADHD, so it’s pretty much dealer’s choice around here and I’m certainly not the dealer. Praise God, because I couldn’t run this shit show.)

Here’s my review:
MMC/FMC- Stryker and Glitter
Genre- MC Romance (Audiobook)
Heat- they do the things and use a lot of naughty words. 4/5 volcanoes.
Series? Y
Safety? Y
Triggers- Violence (including off-page involuntary BDSM), Stalking, Firearms, Language, Sex, Trafficking.
Tropes- Secret Crush, Private Dancer, Stripper FMC, Hunckson and Chantilleee, BDSM, Who Did This To You?, Touch Her And Unalive, Friends to Lovers, Grumpy/Sunshine, Forbidden Love, Workplace Romance.
What I think of the narrator: Umi is a gem! I absolutely LOVE her voice acting.
What I think about the story: Marteeka hit it out of the park again! I get so excited every time one of her audiobooks becomes available to review.
Glitter is such an upbeat character who makes everybody around her feel good. Stryker is so Alpha without being an Alphahole and he has hidden depths. I liked that the story played with power exchange and that the main characters were so well-suited that way.
Unsolicited Life Advice- if you’re gonna name your kid “Glitter”, it’s a given she’s going to end up as a stripper. Just sayin.
