Mewsings
I heart Arianna Fraser. Every time I read one of her books I am blown away. This was a delightful blend of romance (except for the bit with the needle), action (our heroes really could use that surgical suite, what with all the bullets), humor (those chapter subtitles are everything), and weddings (they’re like unto potato chips; you can’t have just one).
The humor is marvelous, but more importantly, Fraser knows when not to use humor. Serious topics, like human trafficking, are treated with the seriousness they deserve.
The zexytime was super hot. When they were in that car in Dublin, I swear my ovaries stood up and sang in two-part harmony. Cameron is straight up mouth watering (and the cover model is delicious! Rrowl!)
I even liked the characters’ names. Morena means death. Not gonna lie, the little part of me that went through that Goth phase for about ten minutes back in 1995 was absolutely thrilled.
I felt bad for Morena. She dealt with a wedding dress that resembled a wedding cake. Then she had to put up with the Mother-In-Law From Hell, who acted like the hostess in Morena’s house. And she bore it with fortitude. Without b*tch slapping her.
I enjoyed the side characters. It was great seeing Mala again. Especially seeing that she hasn’t left all of her Academy training behind her, including her facility for poison. And Miss Kevin is a favorite. Nolan O’Rourke is super hot (and super psychotic) and he needs his own book.
I had a fabulous time reading this novel. I only have one complaint. All those beautiful cars being hit (sometimes literally) with the Ivanov Curse. Those beautiful cars….
I think my work here is done. I can hardly wait until the next book in the series comes out. In the meantime, I have snacks. I leave you with one word: charcuterie. Because all of the food P0rn made me hungry….
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love you and all your mewsings, though the ones about my books will always be my favorite. Again, apologies about the expensive autos and their cruel treatment. I know this hurts your soul.
