I chose Light Me Up nail wraps because I was feeling the pink and it has fun snowflakes for winter. Lily and Fox is one of my go-to brands for wraps. Nail wraps are a lot easier than nail polish and much less messy.

This week I listened to Patriot by Harley Wylde, book 6 in the Hades Abyss series. I received the audiobook for free courtesy of the author and StoryOrigin.

Here’s my review:

I could listen to Umi Markkanen for days. She’s the narrator of this book and others by Harley Wylde. Her voice is very pleasant and she speaks clearly so she is easy to understand. She does a great job of both the male voices and the female voices. And even the parrot voice!

Umi has great material to work with. Harley Wylde always writes an excellent MC Romance. Her characters are vivid, with interesting (and sometimes tragic) backstories. She gives good Instalove. And Patriot is on the list of Ultimate Book Boyfriends. He is sweet and tough and totally protective of MaryAnne, his woman. Maryanne’s horrible experiences have not made her cynical, but strengthened her incredibly loving heart. Both are amazing characters who are likable and easy to relate to. I truly enjoyed this book.

Here’s the breakdown:

Safety? No cheating or present SA, although past SA is discussed.

Other triggers- Off-page unaliving of bad guys, violence, language, sex, character under the influence of substances that are probably legally prohibited, Christmas cheer.

Tropes- Instalove, He Falls First, Sexual Healing, Voyage of the Damaged, I Know an Ol’ Lady, Christmas Movies, Christmas Socks, Christmas Shopping, Lady Bountiful, Secret Santa. And a Parrot Not In a Pear Tree.
