This nail wrap set didn’t have a title printed on it, so I have no idea what the hell they are called. I think they’re pretty. Last ten days I was down with the COVID, and I just didn’t feel up to doing my nails. Honestly, I was pissed because I had successfully avoided the COVID for years and it finally caught me.
So I allowed myself two hours to be pissed, and then I put on my big-girl boots and moved on. That’s how I handle a bad mood if it’s not Bipolar-generated.
I use nail wraps because of the hand tremors. I make too many mistakes with nail polish. Plus I just don’t have the skills to do nail art that’s this intricate.
This week, I re-listened to Tex by Harley Wylde. It’s narrated by Umi Markkanen, and everybody knows that I love me some Umi.
Here’s my review:
Hero and heroine: Tex and Kalani
Triggers: language, explicit love scenes, off page abuse
Heat level: a couple of explicit steamy scenes
Cliffhanger?: N
HEA: Y
Narration review: Narrator has a clear and pleasant voice and is easy to understand. Her voice is not deep for the male voices, but it still works. Her voice drew me into the story. It wasn’t a long audiobook- I listened it in one marathon session. I’d recommend the narrator and would be happy to listen to another audiobook narrated by her.
Story review: I enjoyed this book. I got so interested in it that I listened in one long session. I found the hero and heroine to be likable and realistic as a couple. I liked that any violence took place off page rather than on. The abuse was mentioned but not detailed, which kept the book from going into a very dark direction. I liked that the relationships between different characters were strong, despite this being a relatively short audiobook. I enjoyed the growth of the main characters and of the romantic relationship.
Next week, I’ll be back with a new audiobook and a new manicure. This review is my honest opinion and these are my honest-to-goodness nails.
