Mewsings
What I liked- Oh, Arianna, you did it again! You made me expand my list of book boyfriends (by now it’s a harem, or, rather, a hizem). Dougal is super hot and his penchant for a certain erotic act is commendable (as is his enthusiasm for “dining” al fresco) and makes for extremely spicy zexytime.
I love the blend of action, romance, and humor. Those chapter subtitles are everything. I spit out my drink when Dougal thought of a creatively diabolical way of getting back at Lachlan. The pace is fast and the story never gets boring. This is one of those books that made me stay up past my bedtime because I couldn’t put it down.
And the Firearms! Many romances have Arm P0rn; this book also has Arms P0rn. When I read Chapter 25, I think I squeed myself. I saw a picture once of an engraved Jones Deluxe, and it truly is a thing of beauty. Isla’s reactions are priceless (especially when she starts to pet one of the guns “like it’s a baby kitten”). Her facility with the weaponry was brilliant and I loved the shoutout to the Ares Academy series. She’s a total Badsass (you might be surprised by how many words different websites *cough* Amazon *cough* consider to be profanity. My response? “Hold my beer….”).
I enjoyed this book and I heartily recommend it. Along with all of Arianna’s books. I would chain her to her computer to get her to write 24/7, but I can’t. I don’t have that kind of bail money….
What I didn’t like- this book makes me jealous. I want a firearms room and indoor range for Christmas, okay Santa? I’d promise that I’d a good girl, but I don’t want to go to Hell for lying. There are so many other reasons why I’m likely to go there, not the least of which is what I’d like to get up to with these zexy MacTavish brothers. Imagine being on the menu at one of their family reunions… *sigh*.
What made me go “huh”- I asked Alexa how to pronounce Isla because I’m never sure whether it’s pronounced “Eye-la” or “iz-la”. Alexa says it’s “eez-la”, which is really pretty.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don't know why I missed this post but thank you. It's lovely! I screeched like a barn owl over the comment that "He has an insatiable appetite for eating… well, let’s just say that all the cats in Scotland are terrified (and all the women, jealous)." Aahahahaha!
Perfectly summed review! Love it!!
