Mewsings
This book was actually never supposed to be written. The author did a mock up of the cover as an April Fool’s Day joke, but it quickly became their most requested title. I’m not normally a fan of April Fool’s jokes, but this one I can get behind.
Sooo much of this book is hilarious. First off, the concept totally gave me the giggles. Then there was his flamingo’s inner voice, which kept urging “cuddle” and “flock” at inopportune times. (My mind kept giving this inner voice the voice of a parrot, because I honestly haven’t a clue what flamingos 🦩 sound like.) I kept expecting him to give her a peck on the cheek… Then there was the attendance at the imaginary party and the impromptu Simon Says game. Where she made him stand on one leg. The. Whole. Time. This is where his super shifter powers come in, because that man can stand on one leg like it’s his job. Be advised that there are dad jokes, but they come off as funny and dorky in the cutest way. The hero was able to be a bit of a badass when chasing after a flying enemy, but there was no gratuitous violence . Add in two thousand cupcakes, the risk of sabotage, high end lawn ornaments, a clockwork flamingo, and a cinnamon roll hero and you have a book that is sweet and funny and likely to slay at Kung Fu, or at least the Crane Pose.
I borrowed this book on Kindle Unlimited and I am tickled pink to leave this honest review.
